I’m pretty excited today to see my business at the top of the list at Interior Mall in their interior design links. Interior Mall is a broad-resource site including links to everything from the Art Institute of Chicago to fashion color predictor sites, and best of all an unending array of discounted fabrics and furnishings.
I love the sleek brushed nickel curtain rods and finials, some pictured here.

What an informative piece by the Chicago Sun-Times’ Frank Fontana in yesterday’s paper. He speaks on the importance, actually the imperative, of considering how you FEEL about the things in your rooms. I recommend this quick read for a potentially long-term effect on your home if you employ its suggestions.
So how DO you feel about the picture on your dining room wall, the chair in your foyer, the table beside your sofa? Are they making you feel something special? Are you surrounding yourself with the things you love? Take inventory today in just one room; you choose. Let me know what comes up on your list.

What a fun visit to Nadeau today – they have 3 months’ worth of furniture that has just come in and they are packed to the gills. Oh such an array of beautiful furniture in solid wood from Indonesia and other parts East. Two of my favorites are pictured here. Nadeau is now open to the public all the time. Take a trip to this wholesale furniture warehouse “with soul” for unique and affordable finds.

My colleague Amber of Amber’s Organizing has added a NEW PAGE to her website highlighting me and my services. We are natural power partners because:
- before I can see what needs to be done in a room, I need to SEE the room – this means getting the clutter removed and getting the room in order to give me an optimal view of the potential in the space
- after Amber organizes and her clients can enjoy their spaces again, they often want to take it to the next level by redesigning their rooms
I have Amber highlighted on my news page, and with this page addition on her site we are poised to bring even more services to our clients.

Check out the before and after photos of this now-fabulous living room. These clients called me in to draft designs for room arrangements. I drew 5 layouts to scale and they chose the one they liked best. We worked on color scheme, window treatment style and fabric options, and furniture choices. They did a terrific job in their selections and the result is a beautiful room that works. A design and decorating makeover standout!

Remember your mom’s, grandma’s, or your own old-fashioned clip-on earrings, the ones with big green rhinestones or pearls that weighed a ton and hurt to wear more than 10 minutes? Let’s do something good and green with them: recycle, or repurpose, them in new ways around the house.

Clip earrings onto raffia, tie around a cloth napkin for a unique and lovely napkin ring. Clip earrings on the bottom or top rim of lamp shades for extra sparkle when you turn on the lights. Get more tips in Deborah’s April newsletter – sign up today.
